Rem inks two more with Kleven
Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway, has signed a new contract with Rem Maritime of Fosnavåg, Norway, for the building of two new, sophisticated offshore vessels.
The vessels are both Multi Purpose Subsea Operation Support Vessel of the MT 6022 design, a new design developed in close cooperation between owner and yard, designed by Marin Teknikk of Tj?rvåg, Norway.
The total contract value is $126 million and delivery is scheduled for February and May 2008. The vessels are 107.6 m long, with a beam of 22 m, accommodation for 120 crew and a working deck of 1,120 m2.
“MT6022 is a new and flexible design, and may be adjusted to suit future market demand. Compared to the vessels we have on order, we are stepping up in size of vessels. The increased size allows for larger crane capacity and increased crewing, as well as increased loading capacity” states owner Åge Rem?y.
Kleven Verft has 12 vessels on order, at a total contract value of NOK 3.6 billion.
