RR wins additional offshore marine contract
Rolls-Royce has won £72 million of further business on its largest ever offshore marine contract from Germany’s Nordcapital Group, taking the total order value to £155 million. The company said it will design and equip four more offshore service vessels, in addition to the six Nordcapital ordered in June. The vessels will be operated by OSM Schiffahrt, a Hamburg-based 50:50 joint venture between Nordcapital and Norwegian ship management company OSM.
The vessels, designed by Rolls-Royce and incorporating a range of its marine equipment, including diesel engines, deck machinery, thrusters and dynamic positioning systems, will be built by the Korean yard Sekwang.
