Safety orders for offshore newbuildings

Following a recent contract for lifeboat packages for Maersk drillships being built at Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea, the company has been awarded more orders for rigs. At Jurong Shipyard in Singapore, Noreq has been awarded the lifesaving package for eight jack-up rigs with an option for a further six, which Jurong is building for Seadrill and Noble Drilling. Another Singapore yard choosing Noreq equipment for new buildings is Keppel FELS Singapore, which has ordered lifeboat and rescue boat packages for two rigs under construction for Discovery Offshore.

In addition, Noreq reports recent orders for 20 packages of rescue vessels and associated davits. The total value of these contracts, including the jack-up options, will be in excess of $15 million.
