SCI orders VLCC pair

State-owned Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) received the government’s nod to buy two VLCCs each costing $130 million. The 300,00DWT newbuildings have already been

ordered from Daewoo (DSME) and are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2008.

The current SCI fleet includes two VLCCs and the company plans to acquire 10 more vessels to raise its fleet of VLCCs to 14.
