Sembcorp Marine Brazil yard completes debut repair

A bulk carrier managed by Springfield Shipping Company in Athens left EJA on May 12, the Olympic Gemini undertook a week of repair to its cargo hatch cover as well as renewal works on its main deck supporting foundations.

“We are impressed with the comprehensive facilities and dedicated service offered by EJA,” said a Springfield Shipping Company representative.

The statement added: “We commend the EJA team for their fast turnaround, close collaboration and strong commitment in ensuring a successful repair operation despite the short notice and tight schedule.”

EJA is equipped with warehouse facilities, mechanical, piping and electrical workshops, as well as a highly automated steel fabrication facility and sub-assembly facilities.

It is positioned to provide integrated marine and offshore engineering solutions to customers in the South Atlantic, specifically Brazil, Latin America, Mexico and the West African markets.

The yard’s operation is supported by a giant floating crane with a lifting capacity of 3600 tonnes that is capable of modules integration and heavy lifting operations.

When it is fully completed, the yard will have a new floating dock with lifting capacity of 85000 tonnes.
