SembMarine bags gas platform

SembCorp Marine in Singapore has clinched a contract to build a gas production platform to be installed offshore in Brazil. The deal is worth $550m and the platform will be built by its Brazilian shipyard Maua Jurong for Companhia Mexilhao do Brazil.

Construction of the gas platform will start immediately and delivery is scheduled for no later than November 2008.

The platform comprises a 12,000 tonne deck including a natural gas production plant designed to produce up to 15 million cubic metres a day.
