Shell goes to Sembawang
Oil major Shell International Trading and Shipping Company (STASCo) has signed an evergreen alliance agreement with Sembawang Shipyard of Singapore. The agreement commits the scheduled refit and drydocking of the Shell fleet trading in the east to the Singaporean yard for the foreseeable future, reports Sembawang. It is the first time that Shell has entered into such an agreement.
The alliance should result in a substantial overall improvement in fleet operating performance, optimising trading days. The shipyard expects to benefit from cost savings generated by economies of scale and improvements in operational efficiency provided by better forward planning.
