Ship engine simulators

The new STN Atlas SES 4000 series of engine room simulators are based on real-time physical mathematical models instead of traditional look-up tables, says the company. The simulators cover all aspects of engine operation from planning schedules and operational procedures to analysis of engine performance, monitoring, control functions and fault detection, says STN Atlas.

A total of 47 simulated technical systems in 26 high resolution mimic images are available. The simulator database comprises a library of more than 300 potential faults and malfunctions in addition to 700 changeable constants for the main engine, power supply and sub-systems. The behaviour and handling of individual sub system components can also be simulated in real-time and all exercises can be stored as replay files, used for debriefing or for new start situations of new exercises.
