Siem awards Kleven contract
Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway, has signed a new contract with Siem Offshore Inc for the building of one new, sophisticated vessel. The contract has a value of $56 million. The vessel is a Multifunctional Platform Supply Vessel (MFPSV) of the MT 6017 design, a Marin Teknikk design developed in close cooperation between the owner and yard.
The vessel is 93.70 metres long, with a beam of 19.70 metres and a working deck of 1,047 m2. The accommodation is for 68 persons, and the contract includes offshore crane and helideck. The vessel is a sister vessel to the yard?s newbuilding no. 323, a contract Siem Offshore signed with Kleven Verft in August 2006.
The vessel will be delivered in the first quarter of 2009 as the yards newbuilding no. 326 and is Siem Offshore`s eleventh contract with Kleven Verft , which now has 21 vessels on order, at a contract value of $1.275 billion.
