Simon Mokster orders AHTS

Simon M?kster has signed a contract with the Leirvik-based shipbuilder Havyard to build an Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) of Havyard 842 design. The $46 million vessel is due to be delivered in November 2008 and the order carries an option for a second vessel.

The newbuilding is of same category as ?Stril Power? and ?Strilborg? currently operated by Simon M?kster Shipping. The new vessel will have larger anchor handling winch, a 200 tonne bollard pull, oil recovery facilities according to NOFO 2005 and a travelling crane on the port cargo rail.
