Simrit unveils new isolation tube
The company says the isolation sleeve is the first pope isolation to combine thick braided glass fibre yarn covered with dark gray silicone rubber.
Asger Rasmussen, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies – Simrit, said: “Our new isolation material represents our continued commitment to meet the customer’s demands for a safe and highly isolating solution that is easily installed and comes in a flexible and very durable design.”
Fuel pipes used for transportation of thick heavy fuel oil used for large marine two stroke diesel engines often reach surface temperatures of 140 degrees Celsius.
By reducing the pipe surface temperature to around 60 degrees Celsius, the new isolation tube could provide effective burn protection for marine industry personnel.
Simrit’s new isolation tube has a multilayer design and, for a 35mm pipe, is 52mm thick and heat resistant up to 250 degrees Celsius.
