Solstad contract for two large AHTS

Solstad Offshore ASA has entered into a contract with Karmsund Maritime Service AS for the building of two large anchor handling vessels (AHTS). They are developed in close cooperation between SOFF and Vik-Sandvik. The vessels will have 28.000 BHP, a bollard pull of 300 tonnes, accommodation to 60 people and are designed with special focus towards safe anchor handling. They will be equipped to also operate as service construction vessels (CSV) and are prepared for installation of A-Frame and a large offshore crane.

The vessels will be delivered in December 2008 and May 2009, at a price of around NOK 500 million per vessel. SOFF has option for additional equipment.
