SPP captures Greek contracts

One 82,000 dwt bulker was ordered for Modion, two for Iason Hellenic and two 35,000 dwt bulk carriers for S. Frangoulis. The total construction is worth about $165 million.

The 35,000 dwt bulk carriers will be of the same design as the Handy Wind that has been selected as the best ship of the year by the Naval Architect magazine. An official from SPP said that this design is gaining popularity because the company has put efforts into upgrading their original carriers and developing more environment-friendly and efficient vessels.
