SPP wins orders for six vessels

The South Korean shipbuilder SPP Shipbuilding has been awarded newbuild orders for two 81,000 DWT and four 59,000 DWT bulk carriers from three European shipowners at a total cost of $210 million.

The shipbuilding group has delivered 58 50,000 DWT products tankers and three 35,000 DWT bulkers so far this year. The company’s order backlog stands at 145 ships of around 2.55 million cgt worth $6.5 billion. The orderbook comprises products tankers of 50,000, 74,000 and 113,000 DWT, and bulkers of 35,000, 59,000 and 81,000 DWT.
