SSAS and LRIT terminals added

The Sailor 6120 SSAS builds on the principles of the 3000 SSAS, and includes multiple address functionality enabling additional messages to be sent directly to, for example, the vessel owner, operator or crew family, in addition to the required flag state and ship owner message in relation to the ISPS code. Alert buttons have been made as small as possible to ease installation and concealment whilst configuration and re-configuration, which can be done remotely or by a Thrane & Thrane technician, have been made simpler, without crew interaction. The 6120 is approved by Inmarsat and all major classification societies and national flag state administrators, and exceeds the requirements of SOLAS resolution XI-2/6.

The Sailor 6130 LRIT system enables straightforward LRIT compliance, offering similar benefits to its predecessor, the Sailor 3000 LRIT, but with enhancements included within the new mini-C family. The 6130 is approved by Inmarsat and major flag ASP state administrators, and complies with IMO Resolution MSC.263(84) and IMO Circular MSC.1/Circ.1307.

Both terminals share new features including the new terminal control unit (TCU) (Thrane 6194), as the key connection point in the system. The TCU allows operators to quickly determine system status such as power, Inmarsat log-in and GPS fix. Status is indicated by the alert and test buttons respectively. The terminals feature a self-contained sealed design, housing both antenna and transceiver, making them suitable for the maritime environment.

Both units use a 50 channel GPS module and high gain omni-directional antenna, and are supplied complete with all cables and connectors. The standard connection cable is 30m, but can be extended. They use the ThraneLINK network protocol and may be operated using the Sailor 6006 touch screen message terminal. Two further variants are the Sailor 6140 and Sailor 6150, which have been designed for vessel tracking applications within the fishing industry.
