Stromme acquires NME

Importer

The agreement on the purchase of 100% of the shares in Norwegian Maritime Equipment AS (NME) for NOK 12.2 million in cash in addition to shares in Str?mme ASA was signed by the two parties earlier this year.

This agreement will extend Stromme?s range of products in important segments of marine equipment and will strengthen their own brands on the traditional shipping market, as well as expanding sales to encompass shipyards and offshore enterprises. NME products are for the most part concentrated on lifeboats, their cranes and davits, ship’s cranes, fenders, osmosis plants and fire-fighting equipment for use onboard ships and offshore installations.

In recent years, Str?mme has launched several of its own brands such as Stromme Marine Compressor (air compressors), Mari-Clean (high pressure systems), and Stromme Cargohold (special equipment for cleaning the holds onboard bulk-carriers). The acquisition of NME will provide Str?mme with access to production facilities in China . This is regarded as an important asset, also in regard to the company’s other marine products. NME will have access to Str?mme’s international sales network and client base, which comprises approx. 350 shipping companies and cruise ship companies worldwide. Str?mme will gain new technical competence in marine products, and valuable contacts and experience in the Far East , both in sales and production.
