STX France bags fourth Oasis cruise ship order

The fourth ship will follow a similar design to the third, the keel of which was recently laid at the STX Saint-Nazaire yard. As well as additional energy-saving measures over the first two ships, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, the two newer vessels will feature novel passenger amenities including a split superstructure design, 16 decks with 2,700 staterooms, an 82ft long zipline, a hand-crafted carousel, an elevating bar, a high-diving performance venue, and the ‘Central Park’ with more than 12,000 live trees and plants. All Oasis class ships have twin FlowRider surf simulators, cantilevered whirlpools, ice-skating rink, children’s aqua park, royal promenade, interior boulevard as well as a selection of restaurants, lounges and boutiques.

The fourth Oasis class ship is scheduled for delivery in 2018, following the still-unnamed third ship which is expected to enter service in spring 2016.
