STX nets six ships

STX Shipbuilding in South Korea clinched four container ships and two product carriers from European ship owners representing a total contract price of $190 million. EF Shipping in Greece and the German ship owner Reederei Bernhard Schulte each have ordered two 2,600TEU container ships. Measuring 210 metres long, 30.1 metres wide, a depth of 16.7 metres and a service speed of 22.1 knots, they will be delivered from second half of 2006 to 2007. The shipbuilder also received orders for two 51,000DWT product carriers from an Italian ship owner. These vessels are 183 metres long and 32.2 metres wide with a depth of 19.1metres. They will have a service speed of 15.9 knots and will be delivered in 2006.
