Success for MM designs
Egil Ulvan Rederi AS has ordered a general cargo vessel of the new “MM 66 CC” design at Moen Slipp AS in Kolvereid, Norway. This will be the yard’s newbuilding number 67 and is scheduled for delivery early January 2009.
The design is the result of a close cooperation between the owner and Multi Maritime AS, the ship design and engineering company based in F?rde, western Norway. The 2,000 dwt newbuilding is designed to carry general cargoes, containers and reefer cargoes. It will measure 66m long, have a beam of 14 m and a depth of 10 m.
In a separate contract, Nor-Ferjer AS has ordered two ferries of the new “MM 105 FE mk. II” design and one ferry of the “MM 63 FE” design from Fiskerstrand Verft. This yard now has six ferries on order from Nor-Ferjer AS. The “MM 63 FE” ferry, which will be newbuilding number 058, is similar to new buildings 054 and 057, and will have a capacity of 50 cars.
The two “MM 105 FE mk II” ferries (new buildings 059 and 060) will have a capacity of 120 cars, and are intended for the Hareid-Sulasund service.
