Synergas LPG fleet expansion

The recent launching of the 4,000 m3 LPG tanker ?Syn Zube? at the Cantiere Navale di Pesaro (CNP) shipyard in Italy marked another step in the fleet expansion programme of specialist Italian LPG operator Synergas. The newbuilding is a semi-refrigerated type, fitted with two separate self-supporting cylinder cargo tanks, and will be able to carry 4,000m3 of LPG at a max pressure of 8 bar, at a temperature of – 48 ° C.

We are continuously endeavoring to expand our presence and provide the most advanced quality of services.” Antonio Zacchello, CEO of Synergas says, “The building of these new ships marks the commitment of our company to provide a highly reliable service in the extremely demanding and specialised sector of gas carriage.”

?Syn Zube?, and her sister ship ?Syn Zania?, feature some highly innovative technical characteristics, which include a high degree of automation and hull design solutions which enable the assignment by the class society RINA of the environmental notation CLEAN-SEA.

The CNP shipyard has also contracted the building, in co-operation with Gdansk shipyard in Poland, of three 9,000 m3 ethylene tankers for Italian company FVH Spa, to be delivered from 2009 to 2010. Two of them will be managed under a bareboat charter by Synergas, while the third one will be purchased by Synergas.

The expansion program of Synergas foresees the delivery from 2009 to 2010 of two more 4,500 m3 ethylene carriers, commissioned from Vinashin shipyards in Vietnam. On completion of the current expansion programme in 2010 Synergas will control 17 gas carriers: 13 ethylene tankers, and 4 semi-refrigerated LPG carriers, ranging in size from 4,000 to 9,000 m3.
