Odense Steel Shipyard in Denmark presented its latest newbuilding, an 11,000 TEU container vessel, for A.P. Moller ? Maersk Group. The newbuilding, named ?Eleonora Maersk?, will, like her predecessors ?Emma Maersk? and ?Estelle Maersk?, be part of the seven-ship series of the world?s largest container vessels which are setting new standards for safety and environment. Environmentally friendly silicone paint covers the hull of the vessel below the waterline ? reducing water resistance and cutting the vessel?s fuel consumption by 1,200 tonnes per year.

Powered by a 14-cylinder Wärtsilä RT-flex diesel engine developing 80,823kW, the new vessel will, after delivery, enter Maersk Line?s worldwide service.
