Thruster system fitted with new Lilaas technology

Lilaas’ new LO1 units, which were launched at this year’s SMM exhibition, will be installed in the armrest of the captain’s bridge chair. The multifunctional control lever for azimuth, thruster and population controls will allow the captain to control both azimuth and thruster while in a seated position, maximising efficiency and allowing for flexibility.

We see offshore vessels as a key market for the new all-electronic lever type, as operators in this sector need the reliability and enhanced functionality provided when manoeuvring close to platforms, for example.”

The LO1 units feature a built-in TFT LCD display which shows the position of the lever and feeds back information from the ship’s systems that are being controlled. Marine Technologies has ordered a customised model without a built in display as thruster forces are already shown on its own panel indicators.
