Towed to Pascagoula

Towage specialist Fairmount Marine has started a 9,700-mile tow of an offshore platform, Murphy Oil Front Runner SPAR, from Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates, to Pascagoula, US.

The 14,000 tonnes SPAR, with a length of 180 m, is on the deck of the superbarge Zhong Ren 3. The 183 tonnes bollard pull tug De Hong commenced the tow last week. The tug and the 50,000-dwt barge are on long-term charter with Fairmount.
