Transas to supply engine simulator to Resolve Maritime Academy

The new simulation systems will, according to Transas, facilitate the conduct of a wide range of courses for the training of marine engineers, including operational and emergency procedures, and crew resource management training with Resolve’s existing Transas full mission bridge simulators.

The system will employing a combination of real controls and touch screen technology, allowing RMA to simulate multiple engine platforms including diesel electric, low speed diesel, medium speed diesel and CODOG, within the same full mission simulation spaces.

Having the ability to combine the engine and bridge simulators for integrated operation, both on the latest Transas platforms, gives Resolve Maritime Academy the ability to train vessel crews as a complete team. This includes real world communication issues and realistic scenarios that involve the entire ship operation, plus considerations and decision making problems that cannot be simulated without having the bridge and engine team working together.”
