Turbomeca sets up Indian subsidiary

Turbomeca, the French-based player in manufacturing aero, land and marine turbines, is opening its industrial operations in Bangalore, India, though its 100% subsidiary Turbomeca Turbochargers Industrial India (TTII).

The subsidiary will initially focus on industrial turbochargers and will assemble, sell and service turbochargers, which are used to boost several hundreds of large diesel engines essentially for railway applications. The new subsidiary sources components, assembles and tests Turbomeca HS 5800 NG, next generation turbochargers.

The company plans to sell it in India and international markets. TTII will also extend after sales support to Indian customers. The facility has been set up with a capacity to produce 250 turbochargers annually with a potential for further increase to accompany the growth in market demand. The main objective is to manufacture in India 100% of the parts and components constituting the turbochargers.
