Turnkey engineering services for cruise

The partnership said it was looking for new opportunities to expand their services for cruise ship owners and operators in project management and ship design.

“We are not limiting our work on specific projects. The partnership is to provide an integrated solution for the marine industry, but specifically with a focus toward the cruise market,” said Christian Compton, Kalmarine Principal/COO.

“The cruise market is very active with numerous newbuilds, conversions and vessel transfers. Operators/owners are looking for a solution where they can get all of the concept development, basic and detail engineering and project management provided under one organisation.”

Larger projects

Mr Compton added that with operators looking for support on concept development and design for new concepts and vessels, the combined experience, expertise and capacity of Kalmarine and Bluetech will enable the partnership to meet the demanding needs of operators and shipyards to execute larger and more challenging projects.

Kalmarine specialises in project management from concept development through execution. Services include management and development for newbuilds, refits, dry-dockings and energy saving upgrades.

Bluetech Finland is a specialist in cruise and cargo ship design, offering engineering services for ship owners, shipyards and marine suppliers.

Expertise includes all ship design disciplines, including hydrodynamics, structures and machinery design. Bluetech also develops own cargo ship designs with several units in operation.
