Two more for Ostsee

Aker Yards has been awarded contracts to build two 1,700 TEU container vessels for an unspecified German ship owner. The vessels are of the newly developed type Aker CS 1700 and the total contract value is approximately $78 million with delivery scheduled for the third quarter in 2008. The order reserve of the two German shipyards comprising Aker Ostsee is currently 46 vessels. This compares to 28 ships on order 12 months ago.
