Two more PSVs for Kleven
The contract, valued at around 700 million NOK, includes an option for a further vessel of the same type. The vessels are to the VS 485 MKIII L design, a vessel type of which Kleven Maritime has built several examples previously. With a length of 90m, the vessels will each have a deck area of more than 1000m². They will be delivered in the first and third quarter of 2014, and on delivery will enter long-term charter with Statoil.
“Atlantic Offshore is a new customer for us, and we look forward to develop our relationship with the ship owner,” said Ståle Rasmussen, CEO of Kleven Maritime. “We see these two new build contracts as recognition of the work our employees do every day to provide ship owners with quality vessels tailor made for demanding operations. Every shipbuilding contract we sign is also very important for the rest of the industry in our local communities.”
“Quality and competitive terms are why we chose Kleven Maritime and Myklebust Verft for this order,” said Roy Wareberg, CEO of Atlantic Offshore.
Kleven Maritime now has 14 vessels in the order book, at a total value of 6.8 billion NOK.
