Two new 2,824 TEU feeder container ships for E.R. Schiffahrt were named at Hyundai shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea. These newbuildings named ?E.R. Malta? and ?E.R. Malmo? are part of the current newbuilding programme of the Hamburg-based shipping company, a subsidiary of the Nordcapital Group. E.R. Schiffahrt now has a total of 56 container ships in operation with a total container capacity of some 235,000 TEU. A further 22 container ships are to be added by the end of 2007, all of them built at Hyundai.

Both new vessels will be operated by Pacific International Lines (PIL) on a five-year charter and renamed ?Kota Pemimpin? and ?Kota Permai? respectively. PIL plans to use them between the Asia-Pacific region, South-East Asia and the Middle East.
