Ulstein delivers ‘Blue Prosper’
The contract to build the first two vessels for Blue Ship Invest was signed at the end of 2010 and follows the successful operation of Blue Fighter. A further contract for another four vessels was signed in June 2012.
Gunvor Ulstein, CEO, Ulstein Group, said: “The vessels were ordered based on market trends showing a future increase in demand for this type of PSV. Blue Prosper will enter the North Sea spot market under the management of Remøy Shipping, which already manages Blue Fighter in this market with good results.”
The PX121 design of the second PSV offers maximum efficiency and flexibility with optimised tank capacities and flexible tank arrangements making it suitable for many types of supply contracts. The ship has also been adapted to requirements for longer and deeper boreholes and activities further from shore and meets the requirements of Det Norske Veritas’ Clean Design notation.
The 83.4m vessel’s X-BOW hull line design allows for a higher transit speed in all conditions, reducing power consumption and offering higher fuel efficiency in waves and still water.
The remaining four vessels are expected to be delivered in 2013.
