Venezuela denies arms race

Venezuela?s Foreign Minister has denied rumours that the current negotiations to purchase four oil tankers from Spanish shipbuilder Izar are part of an arms race. He explained that all negotiations conducted with Spain and Argentina are directed solely to improve and renew older equipment. At the same time, Venezuela is also discussing the construction and repair of oil tankers with Argentina.
