Vessel management programme

Unitor has launched a programme for vessel safety management. Called Unitor Safety Service, it is a complete package capable of monitoring, maintaining and managing safety equipment onboard vessels, says the company.

Through a centralised database, Unitor will monitor each vessel`s safety needs, maintain onboard safety equipment and manage the vessel`s compliance certification on behalf of the operator. The programme consists of five packages. The life raft service is an international exchange system for all major brands of throw-overboard and davit-launched life rafts. The portable extinguisher service covers onboard inspections and exchange of portable fire extinguishers every 12 months.

The breathing apparatus service, covers all major brands of breathing equipment, is based upon a fixed annual fee and includes testing according to flag requirements as does the escape set service.

The fixed fire fighting system service is based on a fleet agreement and covers all types of fixed fire systems. Inspection and reporting are offered at pre-arranged prices.
