Viet Nam launches largest vessel

The Viet Nam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin) will launch a 53,000 dwt bulk carrier, the largest ever built in Viet Nam, in northern coastal Quang Ninh province on April 6. The ship, named ?Florence?, is the first of the 21 bulkers that Vinashin’s Ha Long Shipyard contracted with a British partner at a total cost of over $400 million.

The new Diamond 53 bulker, designed by Denmark-based Carl Bro Marine, is 190 m long, 32.26 m wide and has a 64,000cu.m cargo carrying capacity.
