Vietnam building tugs for Damen

The Vietnamese company Song Thu has signed a $19.5 million contract with Damen Group for the building of four 3,675kW tugs destined for Europe. Under the contract, the Song Thu company will be responsible for the supply of materials and workforce while the Damen Group for designing, transfer of technology and the supply of main equipment. At the signing ceremony, the two sides also discussed the possibility of building oil-spill responding vessels and multi-functional ships for the oil and gas industry.
