Vietnam complete bulker for German owner

Hyundai Vinashin in Vietnam has handed over a 56,000 dwt bulk carrier to the German shipping company E.R. Schiffahrt. The $50 million ship is being handed over 2 months ahead of schedule.

The E.R. Bologna is 187.8 m long, 18.30 m high with the top speed of 14.5 knots.

Vu Minh Phu, director of the Hyundai Vinashin, said that to gain this achievement, Vinashin had to invest $100 million in purchasing necessary materials and technology. The company also sent 130 workers and engineers to South Korea to absorb that country?s shipbuilding experience.

This is Hyundai Vinashin?s second newbuilding delivered this year in a 10-ship series of bulk carriers for E.R Schiffahrt.
