Vinashin expands Nam Dinh facilities

Vietnam’s shipbuilder Vinashin (Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation) will pump $107.2 million into projects in the northern coastal province of Nam Dinh. The plan aims to make Nam Dinh the country’s third largest shipbuilding centre, after Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, by 2010.

The biggest project would be the Xuan Chau Shipbuilding Complex with an expected investment of $50.4 million, with the 89.5 hectare complex to include four factories to house a shipbuilding plant, a steel rolling plant, a ship accessories plant and a ship?s cranes production plant.
