Volharding in alliance with Turkish yard
A new alliance between Dutch shipbuilder Volharding Shipyard and Um Deniz Sanayi of Turkey has been formed and is further evidence that some shipbuilders are considering strategic partnerships to take advantage of booming markets. The two companies will combine their efforts to build a series of six chemical tankers ? reportedly ranging from 12,000 DWT to 40,000 DWT ? while envisaging further scope for co-operation in the future.
