Vyborg yard to build 6 fishing boats for Turkmenistan

The Vyborg Shipbuilding Yard of Russia has won an international tender to design and build six refrigerated fishing vessels for the State Committee of Fishing Industry of Turkmenistan.

The document, which was adopted with a view to fulfilling the task of increasing volumes of fishing in the Caspian Sea and taking steps to upgrade the fishing fleet of the country, approves a decision by the tender commission of the State Committee of Fishing Industry of Turkmenistan on announcing Vyborg Shipbuilding Yard of Russia the winner of the international tender on design and construction of fishing-refrigerating vessels. The above-mentioned committee was authorized to sign a contract for the design and construction of 6 fishing-refrigerating vessels totaling $ 14.85 million.

Construction work should start in January 2006 and the vessels should be delivered by April 2008.
