Waste water retrofit for LNG tanker

The Mariner Omnipure system uses anelectrolytic process to generate oxidants from seawater, effectively disinfecting biological wastes. The system been certified of by USCG and Bureau Veritas in accordance with IMO Resolution MEPC.159(55). A further benefit claimed for the system is its compact design and bulkhead-mounted arrangement, sais to make it attractive for retrofits as well as newbuilds. The company says that more than 50 of the systems have been installed over the past three years on various vessel types with limited engine room spaces, including multipurpose vessels, PSVs, yachts, fishing vessels and floating accommodation modules.

The contract with Pronav was secured through German representative Barthels + Lüders, a division of Blohm + Voss Repair.
