Wave generator for Marin concept basin

The contract with Bosch Rexroth includes a new control system for the wave generators in Marin’s offshore basin as well as its seakeeping and manoeuvring basin, both commissioned in 2000. The updates will be carried out in late 2015 or early 2016.

Marin said the wave generator in the concept basin would make the facility “ideal for model test research in the early design stage to be used intensively by innovative small and medium-size enterprises”.

Bas Buchner, president, Marin said: “Reliable and accurate wave generation is paramount for Marin’s services to make ships cleaner, smarter and safer. When this project is finalised, we will have state-of-the-art wave generators in all our test facilities, simulating realistic wave conditions.”
