Westfalia launches compact range

Westfalia Separator has launched a new generation of mineral oil separators. Called the D Type, they succeed the company?s C range. Westfalia says the new machines are smaller, lighter, easier to maintain, and more efficient. A range of four modular separation systems for marine, offshore and industrial applications is offered: OSD 5, OSD 15, OSD 30 and OSD 50. Also included is a sludge transfer module, pre-heater module, feed pump module and a control unit, all installed on a common base-frame. The company says they occupy 40% less space than its previous models and are 60% lighter. Instead of gears the new machines have flat belt drives with fewer parts to reduce vibration and noise levels. Major servicing is required every 16,000 hours, says Westfalia.
