Work starts on first Chinese-designed PSV

This is the eighth ship to be manufactured on the company’s small ship line, and this ship is to be certified by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

The SPP17 PSV is designed in-house by Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group, and it follows the SPA80 AHTS. The SPP17 is of 61.80m length oa, 14.00m width, and has a depth of 5.8m, with a design draught of 4.30m and a maximum draught of 4.90m. The waterline length is 61.58m, capacity is 1,700 dwt, and design service speed is 12 knots.
