Zamakona launches Atlantic FSV

This is the first of three field support vessels (FSVs) to the Havyard HY820 design ordered from Zamakona Norwegian company Atlantic Offshore. It was designed with North Sea conditions in mind, its main mission being to provide immediate response to emergency situations on oil rigs. It is scheduled to commence operations on charter to Shell in early 2014.

The 66.8m long ship is capable of towing with a capacity of 65tonne. It is intended for rescue of up to 300 personnel, and is powered by two MAN engines rated at 1,930 kW each.
