Andritz scrubber orders in Belgium and France
Andritz supplies both wet and dry scrubber solutions and its technology complies with the new sulphur emissions regulations which will come into force in January 2020.
The first order is to supply a Belgian shipping company with a SeaSOx wet scrubber for its bulk carrier operating between South America and China. The system will be designed as a spray scrubber in open-loop mode and will use seawater to clean the exhaust gas from the main engine. Andritz will supply all main equipment including pumps, scrubber tower, emission measurement system and the instrument and control equipment.
The second project is a cooperation agreement between Andritz and the French ferry operator, La Méridionale, and the Belgian chemical group Solvay. The agreement is to install a SeaSOx dry cleaning system on the Piana roll-on/roll-off vessel. This solution uses Bicar sodium bicarbonate as the absorbent and a pulse jet fabric filter for SO2 and particulate removal.
