Worlds largest LNG bunker vessel delivered
The delivery follows the signing of a long-term charter contract between Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions (TMFGS) and MOL for the LNG bunker vessel in February 2018. The vessel will be managed by MOL (Europe Africa) Ltd and used to supply CMA CGM’s newbuild LNG mega container ships, following a 10-year contract signed with TMFGS in December 2017.
The 18,600 cubic metre capacity vessel is fitted with French company GTT’s Mark III FLEX-type thin film enclosure system and is the first LNG filling vessel to use this system.
The ship’s filling rate range is up to 1600 cubic meters per hour and it has the ability to handle high flow filling work.
Equipped with a large displacement of GCU (natural gas incineration tower) and a nitrogen gas generation device, the vessel can handle cold cabin, inertisation, heating, gas repellent and other full-process professional services. It can also provide LNG-powered ships with services including daily resupply, docking station maintenance and initialisation.
The ship is equipped with two full-swing thrusters and a side push. It can carry out independent horizontal berthing operations in windy weather, plus achieve ‘door-to-door’ autonomous berthing of various types of LNG injection vessels.
