Biofuel supplier for Wallenius Wilhelmsen
ExxonMobil will provide ISCC certified B30 blend biofuel under the terms of the contract. B30 contains 30% FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester), and 70% sulphur residual fuel (VLSFO).
The ISCC-certification confirms that the biofuel elements do not compete for water with agricultural resources used for food production. ISCC is a globally applicable sustainability certification system and covers all sustainable feedstocks, including agricultural and forestry biomass, biogenic wastes and residues, circular materials and renewables.

The biofuel from ExxonMobil… is the best option we have available for decarbonisation of our existing fleet today,” Kråkenes says.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen has multiple decarbonization efforts underway throughout its operations on land and at sea:

- The company is project coordinator for developing the world’s first wind-powered car and truck carrier (RoRo) vessel together with ten European partners – the project is called Orcelle Horizon.
- The company is investing heavily in energy efficiency measures, including artificial intelligence to optimise sailing routes thus reducing fuel consumption by as much as 10%.
- The company has invested in electric trucks to test the use of electric trucks for heavy haul transportation.
