MOL expands LNG fleet with JERA deal
This is the eighth such contract MOL has signed with JERA and positions the company as operating reportedly the world’s largest LNG fleet.
The 290m 174,000m3 carrier will be built by Samsung Heavy Industries at its Goeje Shipyard and is scheduled for delivery in 2026. It will be managed by MOL, transporting LNG for JERA.
This latest deal aligns with MOL’s ‘Blue Action 2035’ plan and its ‘MOL Group Environmental Vision 2.2’ which aims to drive the company to net zero by 2050.
The company says its plans to use its experience and expertise as one of the world’s largest shipping companies to develop various social infrastructure, businesses, technologies and services to meet the needs of a wide range of customers.
