The latest vessel, named mts Generation, was delivered to VOF Generation – a newly formed shipping company led by Dutch entrepreneurs Danny and Wim Mourik, along with Sergei Mulder.

Danny Mourik, co-owner of VOF Generation, praised the building process. “The Concordia Damen team listened to our wishes and translated them into concrete solutions,” he said.

The 110m tanker, with a beam of 11.45 metres and a draught of 3.3 metres, has a cargo capacity of 2,868 tonnes, said to be around 200 tonnes more than comparable vessels. It will be deployed on the Rhine River for the transport of mineral oils.

A key feature of the mts Generation is its hybrid propulsion system, which combines Equadrives from Verhaar Omega with a battery pack from EST-Floattech. System integrator EMS ensured smooth installation of the propulsion and electrical systems, enabling quieter and cleaner operation while efficiently managing peak energy loads.

“We are grateful to Danny Mourik and Sergei Mulder for their trust in our shipyard, and we wish them, Wim Mourik, and their crew many successful and safe voyages,” said Chris Kornet, managing director of Concordia Damen.
