Wärtsilä and Carnival ink lifecycle deal

The agreement, booked by Wärtsilä during the second quarter of 2026, covers vessels operated by Princess Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line, including two newbuild ships currently under construction.

“By working with Wärtsilä through a long-term lifecycle agreement, we can further strengthen the performance of the covered vessels while supporting the high standards our guests and operations depend on.”

Under the deal, Wärtsilä will provide comprehensive lifecycle maintenance for the vessels’ dual-fuel engines and associated equipment. The scope includes planned and unplanned maintenance, spare parts logistics, major engine overhauls, remote monitoring, condition-based maintenance, technical audits, crew training and performance management.

The partnership is designed to improve fleet reliability, maximise asset availability and optimise total cost of ownership while reducing unscheduled maintenance and minimising unplanned operational interruptions through a performance-based service model.
