K-Chief is a distributed monitoring and control system that provides high-end functionality for power management, auxiliary machinery control, ballast/bunker monitoring and control, plus cargo monitoring.

The Fuel Saver monitors functions such as torque, fuel index, ship speed and hull efficacy and provides information in a format that enables corrective actions. In addition it provides trim and draught optimisation, and suggests optimal speed, optimal heading and optimal rpm taking into account hull fouling, propeller fouling, voyage planning, and bunker cost.

Fuel Saver is part of Kongsberg’s Green Ship portfolio, alongside the MetaPower torque and power monitoring system, which provides data to enable a vessel to maintain or increase speed while saving significant amounts of fuel, and reducing emissions.
